From the West End to Down Under!

English by birth, Simon Gillespie arrived in Australia in November of ’96, having enjoyed over 15 years working as an actor, singer and director in the British entertainment industry. Simon’s first joy has always been musical theatre and he has been involved in a string of successful productions, both in London’s West End and in the major repertory and touring houses of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Roles of note include The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar and Brad in The Rocky Horror Show among many others. Simon is proud to have been asked to perform for Royalty on numerous occasions.

Since graduating from training alongside such stars as Michael Ball at the Guildford School of Acting (GSA Conservatoire), one of England's most respected and successful theatre training establishments, Simon has consciously worked towards gaining as varied a resume as possible.

Cabaret has been a constant feature in Simon’s career and he now enjoys enormous popularity as a solo performer both internationally and here in Australia. Simon’s delivery is deliberately ‘tongue-in-cheek’, resulting in an entertaining and humorous romp through his set. Simon can now also be seen touring in the successful club show “From Stage To Screen”.

Simon’s wealth of experience has resulted in a strong sense of theatricality and presentational value, which he brings to each performance. A much nominated artist for both Mo and ACE awards in Australia, Simon is certainly up with the best of them.
